Its humorous to read these posts.....the vast majority of MMA fighters like boxing and boxers generally like to watch MMA but some STUPID fans choose to criticize each.
As far a calling them ***s...I could name a few homosexual champions over the years in both sports. It would be interesting to get in the ring or cage with them and call them ***s.

They are going to have to do something about these "lay and pray" guys what Werdum did Saturday night was a disgrace. These guys that simply do not want to fight should have points taken away or disqualified. The UFC has TONS of fighters like this that want to get on the ground as soon as the bell rings.

I wouldnt clasify what werdum did as lay n pray. It was stalling, and refs should take a point away for that type of ****.

Overeem should have threw lowkicks to Werdums legs when werdum fell to the ground to at least keep up an attack. sakuraba style!!!!!!

Think about if werdum vs Overeem took place under pride rules! Werdum would have been yellowcarded for stalling and we would have seen some ubereem stomps of death!

    Way more exciting.:deal

HENDO is like that one family member that everyone doesn't like and thinks is idiotic beyond words yet they put up with him.

Only we don't put up with him because we're genetically related in an immediate sense (I think I'd kill myself if that were so), but because the mods don't give two shits about this section. Probably don't even look at it unless it's when they move all the garbage threads from the other sections to here.

You know, this is exactly why I think bonus doesn't work. Yes some fighter will be more enclined to finish fight, but it's not an obligation.

While with the yellow card rule, if you stall the fight, you are acutally penalised, and you get a pay cut.

This make alot more sense then useless win bonus.

Hell, why not just put both of those rule. Poeple get rewarded for finishing fights and penalised if they stall, the best of both world !

yea man i totally agree i think pride = pinnacle of mma it had all the elements of real fighting such as soccer kicks, stomps, and knee on the ground which i find really entertaining. However UFC is much more sanctioned imo and has top elite calibur fighters who really introduced the wrestling background into mma more, plus there have been some great slams in the ufc however pride was much more exciting because of the fact pride favoured strikers rather than wrestlers because if a wrestler would shoot for a double and missed then he would be soccer kicked or stomped into a k.o. "normally" however in the UFC if a wrestler missed a shot then he would just have to get back up. I wish the UFC 137 ST Pierre vs Diaz would have pride rules, but knowing dana white then that is not going to happen.

There's a vast difference between the "ring" and a cage. Knowing them makes pretty much all of your points moot.
