LOL? Did you even see that fight? Jones was beating his ass and was on his way towards a knockout when he got too excited and hit Griffith while he was down. Griffith found the easy way out and overplayed being hurt and the fight got stopped on a DQ. An angry Jones immediately rematches him and knocks him out in one in a brutal display of speed and punching power.
I don't care about the scorecards, how does that subtract any of what I said? Jones had knocked Griffith down in the 7th and was on his way to stopping him in the 9th when the fight was DQ'd. In the 9th with about a minute left Jones landed a right hand on Griffith which stunned him, Jones immediately followed up with hard accurate shots, Griffith was on his way out, took a knee and Jones hits him with two soft ass shots that got him DQ'd. Griffith then proceeded to slump over and act like those DQ shots were the reason he was hurt. There was 3 rounds left, if the referee stepped in and waved a knockdown like he was supposed to, Griffith was without a doubt gonna get stopped in the 10th.
The first fight was certainly interesting, but I think it was clear Roy was turning up the heat and then Montell flopped and he got DQ'd.

Not only that but RJJ was on the verge of stopping Griffin in their 1st fight, and then absolutely blew him away in the rematch. Griffin also beat James Toney twice so it's not like he was a bad fighter..... Is Henry Armstrong overrated for losing to Fritzie Zivic 3 times ? Is Muhammad Ali overrated for struggling against Ken Norton 3 times ? Is Roberto Duran overrated for losing to Kirkland Laing ? Ridiculous logic all in all.
Roy's lucky he didn't get sent to the Pensacola penitentiary for what he did to Montell. Imagine being juiced to high heaven and cracking a completely defenseless downed opponent with not one but two full power flush roid bombs to the face and then acting like you and not them is the one who's the victim? And even worse, then lying through your teeth about not knowing that someone who is dwarf sized when they're standing up was down on one knee
RJJ was DQ'd for hitting Griffen when Grif was down. Why was Grif down you ask, because RJJ dropped him with several, legal shots. So, we can surmise that Jones was going to stop Grif. Nothing overrated about that.
