Ill be honest, I barely respect Haye. I did say to myself though, "A broken toe must be treacherous in the ring" Anyway I digress, Both champions at lower weights. Obviously Moorer is more proven. Speed and Power may go to Haye but boxing skills and guile go to Moorer. I believe Moorer controls the action with his jab and scores a late stoppage after getting dropped himself. Moorer KO 10. This bout at HW. Thoughts?
Moorer is a favorite, but Haye in with a hell of a puncher's chance. He has that kind of explosiveness that could jolt Moorer suddenly. That being said, most times I'd count on Moorer avoiding being knocked out, in which case he can't lose.
I think Moorer wins this one 9 out of 10 times. Moorer was a very skilled fighter, when he was at his best at heavyweight he was good enough to be a contender and potentially be a champ at any era of boxing. He didn't have the best chin though and this is why I think Haye would have a 1 and 10 chance of winning because with him being a good boxer himself and having knock out power he could potentially catch Moorer and finish him off. I think more then likely though even if Haye caught Moorer, Moorer would hit the deck, get up and come back to knock Haye out. A prime Moorer more then likely finishes Haye off in the middle rounds in a exciting fight something like what he did to Alex Stewart.
Haye is certainly faster and more elusive to my eyes. Moorer had cement in his shoes and no head movement, he was always there to be hit and easily overwhelmed. He had a good jab but that wouldn't be enough, especially against someone that's faster and more mobile. I honestly don't like Haye but this is a favorable match up for him, sorry.
