Moses Itauma weakness discovered.

This is what i love about sport, before this fight everyone spoke about Moses like he was perfect, but every athlete in every sport has a weakness, and Moses has no gas tank, that’s his weakness. Great heart though.

 

It was inexperience which will come.

I wonder if Frank keeps Moses at this level or we get a boring rebuild where he knocks out nobodies in 2 rounds for the next year.

 

That was satisfying. Guts, toughness and determination overcoming a faster guy 13 years younger. That was an alarming end for Itauma, the hype was almost impossible to live up to, being compared to Ali for beating Dyllian Whyte.

 

I don’t think Itauma or his corner had a plan B. Hrgovic really didn’t look like he was going anywhere. Moses was clearly ahead on the cards. He didn’t need to put 100% into every shot.

 

Moses thought he was going to take the guy out, very overconfident in his speed and power. If someone can take that, you need something else. I think he was rushed, feel a bit bad for him really

 

Inexperience cost him. It was too bigger step up in quality. If you are fighting Hrgovic, you need to know how to fight 12 rounds.
Not impressed with Ben Davison, he's an offense only coach. Every time you see him in the corner shouting instructions it's always punch combinations, never about slipping shots, keeping your gloves up, staying out of range and popping the jab. The round before the stoppage, I would have been screaming at him to only punch in ones and twos for the next round and don't empty the tank!!!

Itauma won’t ever be the same, take him past 6 and he’ll always fall apart. The hype train ends before it even started.

He could very well use this as the best lesson he’ll ever get.

But I suspect you are right. Everyone he fights now will want to drag him later in to the fight and grow in confidence round after round.

 

I'm just echoing what others have said, it's inexperience that cost him. Fair play to both men, that was some fight.

Someone made a thread on here the other day already claiming that Itauma is better than Ali. But I just laugh it off as this happens every time a heavyweight prospect comes along. He can most definitely learn from this and come back stronger.

 

hopefully he will get over the loss but is was pretty bad for him, he looked ragged and desperate in there. they got too focused on breaking records and making a spectacle of it. when that takes priority, the fighters development take s a back seat then this happens. 20 is very young, unless you are Mike Tyson, which this poor kid isn't.

 

His cardio looked solid for the first 8. I think he got hurt, realized how tired he was and panicked. That ninth round was pure instinct and inexperience imo.

 

Other fighters will see the weakness now, like they did with David Price. Put the pressure on early, weather the storm, then attack that vulnerable chin. He's got youth and speed on his side, but I don't see more than Euro level for this guy now, Frank needs to cash him in.
