im such a Shane Mosley fan that I have always tried to block this out, but this truly has tarnished my view of him...he cheated against DLH for the biggest wins of his career and endangered another fighters life potentially by taking EPO for some reason im really gutted after watching that...
it doesnt really bother me who uses what, i think there is definately a large portion of people that do take stuff, i think its physcological benefits are what fighters gain the most thinking there much stronger and better of...
Shane was one of my favorites for a long time...He was like my dark horse. The guy whose name I used to drop in front of my gym buddies to seem like a knowledgeble guy because at the time he didnt have a high profile and not many casual fans knew of him. I gotta say I was truly shattered when this broke and was confirmed..I really thought he was one of the nice guys, one of the honest sportsman out there who did the talking with his fists and was a gentlemen outside the ring. For a while there I never missed an opportunity to put the boot in whenever Mosley's name came up in threads...call him a cheat, a druggo etc. Ive made a bit of peace with it now...he is still a fighter I admire and enjoy watching. A bloke I still cheer for..but I dont think I well ever adore him the way I did back in the day.
I think it was common knowledge that he had taken performance enhancing drugs in the past. That he admitted to knowingly taking it...yea, he has dropped a few pegs in my book. Never was a big fan though.
Personally, I think the result should be changed to a NC. It doesn't make a big difference in the whole scheme of things, but Mosley didn't "win" that fight. For mine, it really puts doubts on his other wins at that time. What annoys me the most is that he is putting his opponents lives potentially at risk. A little bit different to a track meet.
As usual, people seem SHOCKED that a fkn YANK would cheat.. Well folks, Im here to tell yez to take a look in the local gym too.. Wrapping yourself in cotton wool and PRETENDING this doesn't happen in Oz in living in denial..... and it goes back to the 1950's here.

For sure. It makes a mockery of the BS Shane has been trying to feed his fans for the past few years though with the "I didn't know what I was taking" spiel.
And it would be ridiculously nieve to think he did it for just one fight. The DLH fight should be declared a NC but apparently they can't change the result because it was pre 2005.
