Hatton is not a welterweight? Yeah no ****, because the competition is too stiff up at that class. NOT because he's not as big as them, his style is more effective on smaller, less skilled fighters....plain and simple. Mosley started at frigg'n lightweight and NEVER gets as heavy as Hatton does in between fights. Yet Mosley has fought up at 154lbs.
Bingo. But none of Hattons fans are capable of seeing this. GREAT fighters go up in weight and beat the best consistently. Good fighters simply win vacant belts.
I was stressing a point the other day in here about hatton being over-hyped. I think he's a very good fighter, just not one of the top fighters in the sport and I DO NOT put him in the top 10 P4P. Here's one reason why. I don't think Hatton can move up to 147lbs and beat anyone in the top 5 up there. Thats only a 7lb gap. What other "P4P Fighter" can't move up one weight class and beat ANYONE in the top 5?
I know what you mean. I think it is Shane handspeed that makes people think he is a master boxer. Shane is a boxer puncher brawler with handspeed. He would destroy Hatton by spectacular knockout. I had a good laugh when so many thought Margarito could outmuscle Shane. No one outmuscles Shane.
