Saul Alvarez/Carlos Baldomir and Victor Ortiz/Vivian Harris have been announced for this card. What's everyone's thoughts on the 3 fights? Methinks GBP think Mosley is done and hope Mora wins and establishes himself. Don't particularly like the fight, has no real appeal for me. If Shane wants to fight on, a Berto fight would have been nice. Baldomir is a good learning fight for Alvarez. Would really say something if the ginger one gets the stoppage. Baldomir is ageing and inactive so it could be possible. Ortiz-Harris is one that was meant to happen before. After wanting to rush Ortiz last year with the Maidana fight, they now seem to be taking it slowly with him after the increase in talent at 140. Ortiz should win this one handily. This is the same night as Frank's big card and overall I'd say that is much more intriguing. Anyone really like this GBP card? JuanMa-Marquez is on that night as well and I know what I'll be watching.
spoilt for choice as i really like ortiz, like alveraz aswell but its gota the juanma - marquez card :good WAR MARQUEZ:bbb
Ortiz-Harris stands out as the big winner vs. victim fight. Alvarez-Baldmir is along the same lines but at least might possibly get interesting. Mosely will beat Mora IMHO, could be a decent fight.
Right now, as it stands, the Magnificent 7 shits all over this card. As a fan of Ortiz, I really hate this match-up against Harris, whose punch resistance looks to be pretty much gone. Mosley vs Mora and Alvarez vs Baldomir are fights that I'm not all that particularly interested in either, although it will be good to see Alvarez again.
Apparently Baldomir is weighing a LOT. Inactivity, age and the fact he's never been a puncher, make him an easy nights work for Alvarez IMO, who can be sloppy and is overrated but is fresh, ambitious and undoubtedly talented. I much woulda preferred Alfonso Gomez as the opponent.
Because Rob, whereas the fights on Saturday were competitive on paper, Mosley is gash at 154, Mora was never much good in the first place, Baldomir's there simply to lose, and Harris can't hold a shot anymore. And it's a PPV fight in the US! What's to be positive about?
lol i was winding you up. all 3 fights are crap. my interest will be reading the results on sunday after watching one of the best cards in british boxing history the night before and waiting for the quick 3 round download of marquez vs lopez. WAR. isnt there a decent undercard fight to? i never felt linares and gurererro fights were competitive which is why i made a tidy sum from the Marquez-Pirog-Mendy-Guererro-Linares accumulator i did.
:good:good Golden Boy just trying to cash in on the 200th anniversary of Mexico's independence here. Very average card.
