Here's a short list of the guys I think receive the most hype. Before anyone goes crazy, I'm not saying any of these guys are hype jobs or are overhyped. They are all tremendous fighters who seem to get a lot of love from the fans with relatively few doubters.

    Genady Golovkin
    Guillermo Rigondeux
    Sergey Kovalev
    Lucas Matthysse
    Vasyl Lomachenko

    Thougts?

Rigo is in no way hype.. If he was better promoted and a bit heavier he would easily dethrone PBF

Kessler - 90% Of his resume is filled with nothing but poor opposition and yet hes always getting praised
Matthysee - Im slowly becoming a fan , but certain people make it seem hes the George Foreman of the Welterweight divison .
Trout - The guy got skills , but most people made him out to be the new face of boxing as soon as he defeated Cotto . The loss to Canelo calmed people down for now .

Any time a fighter is not expected to beat a certain fighter yet does so and impressively will always get much deserved hype and love. Trout proved he's worth that hype after the Canelo fight.

  7. Hughie Fury

Brits claimed, he has more potential and even skills than Prime Mike Tyson.

    David Haye

Bum. Best wins against bigger bums, Chisora and Walujew, but people act, that he would be a GOAT. There is a reason that he never fights .. he just want to live of his reputation, because the first Top 10 fighter schools him, like Wlad did.

He's got potential sure, but no one is claiming that he has more skills than Tyson. Don't be spouting anti-brit crap on every thread, it's getting tiresome.

Broner is hyped ---had trouble with Paulie.

Amir Khan used to be hyped -- he fell off a little bit (thankfully)

I never said there was a problem with being hyped. The word seems to have a negative conotation. I pointed out though that wasn't my intention when using the word. I simply indentified fighters who I believe the fans are really behind in terms of talent and what it's expected that they'll acheive in the sport.
