What fighters of the past or present won the most rounds throughout their careers? Vitali won damned near every round he ever fought. He didn't have that many fights as well, so that helps there. Mayweather Jr. has a great ratio here, too.
I vaguely remember a lot of talk about one period where he had numerous fights and barely lost a round.
Yeah, he had some real freak talents at his best. His ability to hit without getting hit was incredible at times.
Something sometimes overlooked about RJJ/Paz is that Vinnie was coming off an utterly dominating and overpowering decision win over Robbie Sims, a performance which ended Robbie's career as a viable contender. (Paz didn't simply outspeed Sims, but muscled him around like a rag doll. Beyond that, I don't remember his heels ever touching the floor, or his knees straightening out. His legs looked great in that one.) Then Roy comes along, and overwhelms Paz even more completely than Vinnie did Sims. That's when I was really sold on RJJ.
Max Rosenbloom must be the answer to this thread. Considering how many fights he had, his very high win percentage and very low stoppage percentage, I calculate that he won a hell of a lot of rounds.
While I agree that this was an impressive stat, unfortunately most fans or posters will refuse to give him credit for this feat, due to him facing "B" level fighters. I myself think this is nonsense, but no amount of talking is going to change certain people's minds.
Whitaker is right up there. During the late 80's and early 90's. Haugen, Ramirez II, Nelson, Diaz, Pineda, etc. However, the tail end of his career he struggled more even through he was dealing with his opponents very well.
Sims was beyond shot by that time though. It was sad to watch him being beaten by a much smaller fighter that he would have pulverised back in the 80s.
You also have to look at the ultra durable fighters he stopped. Purritty and Donald... He's the sole person to ever stop both. Not to mention doing things his brother couldn't, like kicking the **** out of Sanders and beating Purrity to boot.
This is true. Vitlai has the best rounds won to round lost ratio among gloved champions. It is true. Mayweather jr is a good pick on the surface, but he had a near draw vs Castillo. I think Mayweater was donw a bit and had to swtich things up vs Judah. A prime Pernell Whitaker was very hard to out point. The same could be said for a Prime Roy Jones.
