Good shout mate. I'd forgotten all about that. Used to be a bit of a fan as he's from Smethwick and I'm originally from Brierly Hill so he was basically a local fighter. One of my saddest nights of boxing was when Pat Cowdell challenged the great Azumah Nelson. Cowdell got one hell of an ass whooping and it only went a few rounds but, he was involved in some cracking domestic/ euro level fights and was very competitive losing a SD to the great Salvador Sanchez.

UK boxing was having a bit of a golden age back then and Cowdell was smack in the middle of it.

 

Really? I'm in UK and there was no one even close to expecting Khan to KO him.
Not a single soul.
It was all about whether Khan could survive and eek out a points decision.

That's all the best of recent times. As much for the context around the robbery in LA as for the beatdown itself.

Best of all were the bonus salty tears from Wilder, a delicious dessert to a sumptuous feast of counted chickens coming home to roost.

Wlad/Fury - The unofficial end of The Brothers Grimm 10 year reign of utter boredom and mediocrity, I'll admit after Fury was suspended I was worried Wlad would dominate for another few years but thanks to AJ for officially putting an end to that possibility.

Bradley v. Marquez

We all knew Marquez was roided out of his mind. Bulging like the hulk, throwing absolute sledge hammers and covered in pimples for the first time in life .....at age 40

Bradley forces the VADA testing (although Marquez only allowed it at the START of training camp thereby rendering it pretty meaningless), and Timmy goes out there and schools that ass denying him the Welterweight title.
