Not the most underrated but still forgotten by too many people, Meldrick Taylor. Great, but tragic career. 17-year old became a olympic gold medalist, became a champ, beat and finished prime(?) Buddy McGirt and was 2 seconds from glory of beating the undefeated Julio Cesar Chavez in their legendary match. Man he had some crazy speed and cool combos, knew how to box but got to those wars occasionally

I agree and Collins always had an excuse for why he lost each time vs whoever, the best person he beat was Eubank who I think Kalambay would have toyed with.
Taylor`s defense was very weak because he threw too many punches he took a lot of punches from Chavez and was spent by the last round.
I don't agree with it and hate to say it, but it almost seems like Kalambay is known more for getting put out by Nunn than his actual accomplishments. That whole division was a warzone.

Jeffrey Mathebula is a fighter I always liked in recent years. Wicked tall for super bantam(5'10-5'11) and not the most skilled fighter with a chin thats not glass but has been cracked. Very tough kid with two boulders for balls, got tagged a lot but would always regroup and return it.
Fought an underrated fight against a rampaging Nonito Donaire several years ago. Acquitted himself very well. I primarily remember him for that.
Ya he showed massive stones in that one. The scorecards don't reflect the fight at all. Going into the 12th I had it even. On the scorecards Donaire almost pitched a shutout.
