    Which fighter do you believe showcased an ability to fight effectively in more than one style?? Adapting to his opponent.....

    Before anyone else says it, of course Duran "deserves a mention"......

    Jimmy Carter
    Jose Napoles (okay maybe a little obvious)
    Georges Carpantier
    Carlos Ortiz
    Bobo Olson
    Marvin Johnson (he had sublime boxing skills when he chose to use them)

    Carlos Ortiz is nice mention for this. I think Marcos Antonio Barrerra was also able to adapt pretty well.

    Are there any heavies that would fall into this category? Maybe Holmes?

    I would like to say Morales because of how he overcame Pacman, but I was pretty dissapointed with his performance against Zahir Raheem. Raheem isnt' that good but totally outboxed Morales.

    I like how MAB has dealt with different styles in each of his fights. Even if he was on the losing end he still showed the mental capacity to adapt. I never really felt the same for Morales. All heart and excellent offense but always has struggled against foes with lateral movement.

    Eder Jofre was the first to come to mind, of course.


    Hopkins fought dangerous punches at range (Echols and Holmes) inside and dangerous punchers in-close (Tito and Eastman) outside.

    Joppy in a phone booth, Oscar out of range. Johnson everywhere. Thing is, Jones was dangerous everywhere.

    Hard to judge without much footage but i would bet Benny Leonard would be top 5 in this category.
