It's taken Mundine quite long to line up this next fight.

He's gonna find it tough to justify his fight if his next opponent is not world class given Trout has been there all along ready to fight.

Mundine is a naughty boy and should be grounded.

It's not a defense of the fight. Mundine shouldn't fight Gomez based on their relative ranks in the division and he likely won't because Gomez already has a fight lined up with Jessie Vargas at his more natural weight on a bigger stage. However, were he to fight Gomez, Gomez would give him a lot of trouble at the least, his record is deceiving, he has underrated skills and always comes to fight. Most likely Mundine will find some significantly less tough journeyman.

Yup defending a possible Gomez fight cos it would likely be a good fight. Neither fighter is at the top of the division so it would be a fairly even match up. I think too good to happen unfortunately.

Trout would also be really good - Gomez has a bigger name and rep in the States but Trout has a belt so either could open doors.

Vargas has a slot on the Mayweather undercard and Gomez is a name thats been thrown out there. Gomez would be nuts to turn it down if he gets the chance.

I think Mundine struggles to look good against either would have him as a slight fave over Gomez and underdog against Trout.
