No. Munroe looked a bit heavy on the TV on Friday...:yep Has Munroe got a break from the bins and gone full time boxing now...:think He must do this if he has aspirations of a World Title IMHO...:yep
Terrazas looks fairly strong, but there isn't anything spectacular about him. I would expect Munroe to outwork him to a hard-fought decision.
Watched some of Terrazas on youtube and he's by no means anything special. He is quite big and strong though which may prove a problem for Rendall as a lot of his success recently has come from being the bigger, stronger man in his fights and wearing the other man down while he has them pushed back onto the ropes. Terrazas handspeed is poor enough, although he does seem to have a genuine decent enough punch on him. It's been a while since I watched him so it's hard to give a proper evaluation. I do remember saying at the time though that this would be close and whoever secured home advantage would probably get the nod from the judges so from that I backing Munroe to win by close(possibly slightly lucky) decision.
no disrespect to his current team but if he hasn't changed training or perspective I think he could be in for a loss... he was far from convincing last time out.. seemed to have taken steps back rather than forward.
I have been disappointed by his slow progression in ability. Hopefully a weak division in Europe is not masking his genuine title credentials.
I really fail to see how his win against Maldrouttu was a step back....it was clearly his best opponent to date and Rendall showed he could adapt well to the tricky style of the Italian (who looked very strong at the weight IMO) after falling behind on the scorecards early I don't think that anyone thought Rendall would have an easy night with the Italian....It was a very good win and more impressive then the Martinez performances.
hopefully Rendall can give a good account of himself when he steps up but I'm not all that convinced he has what it takes to succeed above European level,I'm surprised the EBU title didn't change hands last time out..I had the Italian winning,but good luck to him...
A win is a win and it was a decent opponent he was up against but what aspect of training could you say Rendall worked on to win that fight??? He walked head on to him and pressured Maludrottu throughout the 12 rounds and if it wasn't for his supreme fitness levels he would have lost. It would have been a much easier fight for him if he had worked on countering & power. Rendall has a lot of potential (world class potential) but I don't think he's being pointed in the right direction
No idea what training he had done for the fight.....but I still maintain it was a good performance.....It was a very tough step up in class for him and he used what he knew best to beat Maludrottu (workrate and stength)....... I'm not sure on his world class potential ...thats maybe why I saw it as a better performance then you did......He just needs to work on being a bit more controlled and place his shots better....he needs to work on his current advantages IMO which is being strong at the weight and a high workrate....It wont get him quite to world title glory but it makes the most of what he has...At 29 I cant see much more improvement from him Best of luck to him though, I love watching him fight and he can give anyone a tough nights work :good
he has no world class potential .... hell get the world title fight if hes lucky but thats about as good as it gets for rendall
