After my first fight, I have come to realize that I need to improve on the following: Power, Footwork, Defense.

    A) Defense- For me I guess, this would have to be the easiest to improve on. If you guys saw my stance, you know what I mean.

    B) Footwork- I have to work hard on this. Gotta do more roadwork to be light on my feet. As well doing more footwork drills.

    C) Power- Some people say you either have it or you dont. Now how do you increase it? I plan to do some weights but hopefully I wont sacrifice speed for this.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I wouldn't worry too much about power. if its anything like the us amatuers power won't matter. It looked like you had enough anyways. I would focus on overall conditioning instead, it always helps to have stamina.

Stamina is power. Just remember that.

I agree. The thing you seemed to lack was aggression, you were too nice. There isn't really anything you can do about that except realizing it next time.

What you do need to work on is your defense. Spar a beginner, or someone smaller than you, and go defense only except for a small tap every now and then to keep him honest. Do defensive drills, blocking, slipping, ducking, parrying. If you have those down add counter punches, etc. I'm sure your trainer has you doing these things. Concentrate on stuff like that, you have power enough don't worry about it.
