nate diaz is moving up to 170 and is going to be fighting rory markham according to mmaweekly.com

all i know is nate better get a good strength and conditioning coach the guy is a twiggy skelator at 155 at 170 hes going to be small. i see him getting beaten badly at 170 unless he pulls guard rory will sprawl and brawl him all day

Weird. Moving up will reduce his reach advantage, so he'll be getting hit more by harder punchers. Also, he'll have a harder time taking guys down. I never got the sense that he was losing lots of muscle making 155, so I doubt he'll be much stronger.

Strange decision both for him and for the UFC.

I think he'll be fine, his frame is pretty damn big for 155, so if he fills out he should about the same strength wise in relation to the weightclass. His brother carries a pretty similar body up to 185 comfortably.

I think some of his reach advantage goes away at 170 but however he could have more energy and possibly been stronger. Nate is a very underatted fighter hes just such a competitive fighter I do believe he will hang in there with the B level guys just like he did at 155.
