If you were Frank Warren and Nathan Cleverly (and making a couple of assumptions), do you think you would have enough money, clout and talent to rip a title from Woods, Erdei, Pascal or Campillo?
Or would you wait a year or two?

Apparently the plan is to fight Clinton Woods if he beats Cloud.

Sounds good.Would have liked him to fight woods even if he loses to cloud, but looks like woods is going to hang them up if he loses.

I'm not sure Cleverley has matured properly yet,he may be fighting at cruiser by the time his body has filled out ?
I was very impressed by how he went about business in his last fight and if it were me i'd hold him back for another 12-18 months.

imo cleverly has more ambition than calzaghe did at same stage in career. i think he is developing wicked skills, just depends how durable he proves to be?

do you think he'll ever be an authentic world class operator, to me he improves with every fight but i understand hes had the opposition to make that possible. pascal never ever no way...?

If I were Cleverly I would wait another year or so to go for the title. Hes only what? 22 or 23? Whats the ****in rush with him. Id try to get him a European title shot before Christmas and defend it a couple of times then take on a fringe world class opponent and then go for the title.

Ok I hate the lanky WELSH **** FACE but he is a great boxer and will hopefully be our next special world champion. Hopefully too he appears less of a twat on tv in future.

He should lean up doomestically then in Europe before going for world titles although really if he has the talent I hope he has then he could go up a division for more titles considering his size.

A fight with Woods should be made if Woods loses to Clown.

He has fast hands a good engine and is a decent body puncher.. Can he soak up a solid shot?? We are yet to see?? I personally think he's drawn into a fight far too easily but like I say we'll see just how good he is in the future, It's gonna be interesting to see how he fares against someone like say Courtney Fry provided Fry is given more than 3 weeks like Oakey was given, Cleverly is definitly European class BUT I just feel he's getting ahead of himself saying I'll take the world title off Clinton Woods if he beats Cloud?:-(?

I think you'll find out more about Cleverly when he fights a genuine puncher with a bit of skill and patience to go with it...

That pretty much sums up my view on him so far.

He has done pretty much as well as can be expected given his level of oppo to date, but there are plenty of boxes to be ticked.

As usual with Warren fighters (sorry to drone on) there are a distinct lack of punchers on his record, and plenty of the guys so far could be labelled chinny, much like Brook in many ways.

Tick those boxes and move him along. Woods was competitive with Cloud by all accounts, cards of 116-112 x 3 suggest this, despite the fact that Clinton has slipped a little from the fighter that shredded Rico Hoye and split three fights with Glen Johnson, he'd still have too much at this stage.

I think he will make it to European level and be dominant, perhaps winning a world title if there is a weak champion. High end Euro/WBO is his level.

According to Warren in today's paper, he is fighting Courtney Fry - another decent domestic operator. Hopefully after this he can push on to the European stage.

JohnAkiBoa, kindly STFU and get out of the Brit forum - I have never heard you say anything positive about a Brit.
