Ok so my friend is fighting tomorrow on the same card as me. He knows his opponent, he sparred with him earlier this month and the guy fights like a bum... I mean he comes in and throws punches from all angles and has a vicious right hand but thats about it. He keeps his and high and has good stamina but no "sweet sience" at all. Just a brawler.

My friend has a good jab and is taller and has reach advantage. He a way better boxer but really has trouble when he is pressured by that kind of guy. His defense is **** BTW. So I need some advice for him because the fight is tomorrow and that guy comes in as a late replacement and my friend's worried and need advice so what strategy should he use and what fight/boxer should I show him to give him an example.

My friend fights at 120 lbs if you need more details reply the thread...

When fighting shorter, aggressive fighters ive found the best way for me to fight is to..

    - Dominant the centre of the ring with a good jab. Make the other bloke wear it all day long.
    - When the other bloke walks up - make him pay a price. In amateurs, this is usually by racking up pts.. if his got a bit of pop the price the other guy should pay is a stoppage.
    - As the other bloke walks up and closes the gap.. circle back and to the right and away from his right hand.. eventually finding your way to centre ring again. If he can settle as he circles he can also throw lead right hands which are a good suprise punch.
    - If his going to try to box this guy.. he needs to be fitter. He needs to be fitter to fight 3rds his way - so, if his not fit and cant fight this way for 3rds.. he'll get lazy, the other joker will walk straight in and fight his fight on the inside.

But pretty much, these guys best asset is infighting. Take away their best asset.. dont let them fight on the inside with you if your a tall guy.
