If you don't count the Hagler-Roldan referee mess up as a legit knockdown and I don't. As far as I know, he was never down in another fight of his.

To me it's clear that it's a push-punch type effort. I'm not even sure his glove touched the canvas.

Chuvalo was definitely never floored, fairly. If people think that is a knockdown, then Vitali was knocked by Sanders (He actually was).

 

I was watching the Hagler V Briscoe fight a while ago, the commentator made reference to a knock down Hagler had suffered. I had always thought Roldan was the only one to be credited with one against him.

 

never stopped. down a couple of times (most notably against DLH)

 

ill give him the benefit of the doubt with the foreman fight because he seemed to have the senses about him at the time of the stoppage but frazier savaged him and was VERY close in dropping him (and knocking his eye out of his head as well) courtesy of a few well place left hooks, particularly the final one that had hm turning away

Thanks for posting those clips, makes it a lot clearer.They seem a combination of a punches & a pushes . Chuvalo doesn't seem to be in any trouble & recovers immediately.

I think he would have hit the deck on the second one if the ropes had not been there.

Not really conclusive knockdowns though & the ref probably got it right as he was not off his feet on either occasion.

So maybe rather than Chuvalo was never floored , it would be more subtle to say Chuvalo was never off his feet !
