It could be argued that DiBella was looking after his own interests by trying to get green in there.

I would say though he does seem like one of the nicer guys. Although that stuff at the recent weigh in was fricking hilarious!!!

 

its funny like how calzaghe hatton left warren under bad circumstances and claim him to be a **** where as people like mitchell bellew and frankie gavin swear by him. he must be doing something right for his current fighters to back him so much. be nice to get a little insight into this

 

I think Warren is great until fighters want to start exercising more control over their affairs, earn big money, take high risk fights and box in America.

Whenever people are willing to tread the line he'll treat them great. A lot of them are happy to do it in order to get decent paydays - I'd wager that at least two of the three you mentioned will at some stage fall out with him and go their own way.

 

yea good points mate. there must be something about him or what he does special that makes kids wana sign with him knowing what happens at the next steps of there careers.

Barry Hearn has always seemed like a fair guy, especially loved how he did over Don King over the Eubank/Benn contracts.

Although i've heard cos of that, we missed out on some super hyper tournament involving McClellan, Jones, Toney, Nunn, johnson etc

 

I've no idea, I'd like to know myself.

I'd say the ideal position is that of George Groves, promotionally free (to all intents and purposes) and managed by a promoter.

I'm certainly not a fan of someone being managed and promoted by the same person.

Hatton was more talented than the opprtunities Warren was affording him and the Kostya Tszyu fight confirmed this ?? That fight was the best thing that ever happened to him, literally, the best thing in the ring and the best thing financially too. Warren MADE Hatton

Lou DiBella. Prior to the Super 6 I thought he was just a Yank tosser, but you can see behind-the-scenes that he genuinely cares about his fighters. Seeing the compassionate way he dealt with Taylor's wife and family before and after Taylor was taken to hospital was really nice too see and struck a chord with me. To then come out and say that Taylor should retire after he could have still made a lot of money out of him is also something that you wouldn't hear from a lot of other promoters, IMO.
