No. Donaire is so overrated it is unreal. He has been living off the Darchinyan win since it happened and has fought no one of note. I don't even think he is that good in the first place. P4P I'd rank Darchinyan higher also.
I really really like Donaire , i love watching him , he completley dominated Darchynian , which wasnt a real suprise but the fight should of been more competetive at least on paper !!! All that said his P4P ranking is a little high when you look down the resume , on potential alone he looks like a safe bet as a main stay P4P , and will probably rack up some really good wins along the way in his career , but he hasnt done it yet , and he's in the most talent packed division (IMO joint with FW) in the world , so nothing is set in stone for Donaire by any means . Cannot wait for the Montiel fight , for what its worth i think a fighter like Montiel has the beating of Donaire , and i actually think he may stop him late on too . In summary i love Donaire , but ive got - Montiel W Donaire TKO 10 :deal :good
Funny that , i read a similar pile of shite about how Mosley should be ranked higher than Mayweather in the WW division because Floyd has fought nobody @47 !!!! How the **** can Darchynian be ranked higher than a guy who owns him :deal
Not sure pal. Montiel is a classic boxer-puncher, and Donaire is a sort of unconventional, but phenomenally talented and fairly sound technically, boxer-puncher. I think Donaire's speed and mobility is hell for Montiel, but Montiel can take his man out so it is a toughie to call. What has Donaire done since KOing Vic? What has Vic done? I can see why people rate Donaire higher, and right now he sould be, but before the Agbeko fight Darchinyan should have been ranked higher IMO. He had moved up to Super-Fly and basically unified, whereas Donaire fought a few bums.
Agree'd Darchynians resume is stronger , and Donaire has been dissapointingly inactive , in terms of live fights !!! But you cannot rank a man higher than another man when they have shared a ring and the outcome is decisively one sided :deal I mean seriously
Yes you can. So in saying that, Carl Baker beat Danny Williams who beat Mike Tyson (so should Baker be ranked higher than Tyson?) One fight means **** all in the grand scheme of things (actually it is fairly important but it is not the be all and end all.) Erik Morales has a decisive win over Pacquiao, but yet Pacquiao is ranked over him.
Well big man we are going to have to disagree , i mean vehemently too !!! How Darchinyan can rank above Doniare after getting his ass handed to him by Donaire himself is beyond me , i understand your concept , and i understand what your trying to say , but for me Doniare and Darchinyan is a closed book !!!! Unlike Morales Pacquiao back in the day ..............
At the time Baker beat Williams, Baker should have been rated higher than Williams. At the time Williams beat Tyson, Williams should have been rated higher than Tyson. At the time Morales beat pacquiao, Morales should have been rated higher than Pacquaio. (seeing a pattern?) At the time Pacquiao KO'd Morales, Pacquaio should have been rated higher than Morales. Now... at the time Donaire KOd Darchinyan, Donaire should have been rated higher than Darchinyan. Until Darchinyan does something very impressive, Donaire is rated above him. P4P is a concept that says, "Who would win a fight between these fighters if they were in the same weight division?" Donaire would beat Darchinyan any day of the week.
Really? P4P means to me who are the greatest fighters regardless of size. I think Darchinyan was far more proven and had achieved much more than Donaire after moving to Super Fly and unifying it, afte rlosing to Donaire, Donaire should have been ranked a head of Darchinyan, once Darchinyan unified it changed to Darchinyan being rated higher IMO. Not usre if it is still the case, I'd say they are pretty even now.
