    That Weaver had a ton of bouts that were talked about and supposed to happen in that 79-83 timeframe. They just never did, like Ali. I don't know if I can recall lets say a 4 year window where not much ever did transpire as was proposed for a guy. Lots of proposed or in the mix type bouts that just never did materialize. It has to take a toll on a guy to go through that. Then at seemingly the last minute, he was in there with Holmes/Tate/Coetzee/Dokes.

    Tough tough sledding in the sport back then if you were a heavy not aligned with DKP. And he was certainly not a favorite of Arum's either.

    That fight played out much like Sonny Liston vs. Leotis Martin.

    Older fading forner champion, dominates the first 7 Rounds, against a
    border-line Top 10 fighter (who is now considered a trial-horse), then hits the wall.
