Watched bits of the fights tonight whilst in work and all of the Benn fight. Cheeseman looks a fighter who’s just going through the motions. He got a painful boxing lesson off Garcia, so as a boxing fan you look forward to seeing the improvements they’ve made since their defeat. Well, he’s learnt nothing. One dimensional, no plan B, no jab, no self preservation...it’s like he wants to get hurt weirdly. Conor Benn is quite clearly a great athlete who’s hastily tried to learn how to box. You know when you get the instruction manual for a new device at Christmas and you just read the basics and skim through the rest...that’s Conor Benn. He’s a rich kid who’s allowed to go and recklessly trade hooks with fighters with 25% KO ratios knowing that when he takes a shot it’s unlikely to hurt him. He doesn’t really care for or understand the subtleties of boxing fundamentals...he just wants to throw big hooks and pretend he’s his dad for a few minutes. He’s a hard, tough kid but he’s going to get knocked out soon.
Unlike the porky hat and the 5 foot dreadlocks lmao. To be honest I like David diamante but his throwback thing used to irritate me. I've seen more of the man and he's a true boxing historian so I have nothing but respect for him, doing his thing his way. I always used to think my tv box was ****ed when he repeated last names tho
