Through several weight classes, and how successful were they? No James Toneys, Henry Armstrong, etc etc. We know about them. Frank Lux was a fighter who went under about a dozen different aliases. Was one of comeback Foreman's early victms. Fought from middleweight to a good sized heavy. Also fought Marvin Johnson at LHW. :yikes
Um...John Wyborn might count. He started at light heavy and often just moved up and down in weight depending on the fights offered. His last fight was a light heavyweight regional title fight but 3 of his previous 5 fights were against heavyweights...the other against a world rated cruiser and a lightheavy. Probably his best wins and performances were at heavy. The heaviest guy he fought weighed it at 293..outweighed him by over 100 pounds and John beat him...The lightest guy he fought was 170 and he only was a few pounds heavier then he (he being world title challenger Nader Hamden)..This was also 6 years after fighting the heaviest guy he had faced. He was not successful overall but always put on a good fight and has several upsets to his name.
Does Hector Camacho count? Wilfredo Vasquez was a 3 weight champ without much recognition. Naseem Hamed started out as a flyweight, his first honours were at bantamweight and went upto featherweight Holman Williams went from 135 to LHW Pazienza went from LW titlist to SMW Guillermo Jones went from Welterweight to Cruserweight

Not sure how obscure, but others has put up less so, so... Young Stribling... turned pro at LW, won regional titles starting at WW, though I don't think his first real championchip was until LHW; and, of course, fighting up to a shot at HW title.
Over a 9 year career Murray Sutherland fought 63 times, and moved up and down the scale from 160-175. That's only a 3 division spread, but it averages 7 fights a year. He lost pretty much everytime he tried to step up, but his resume includes Micheal Spinks twice, Matthew Saad Muhammed, Tommy Hearns, Alex Ramos (handed Ramos his 2nd loss) James Kinchen (took "The Heats" zero away from him) and Bobby Czyz. Sutherland retired with a record of 49-13-1 (40 KO's.)
georges carpentier not sure if you owuld rate him obscure but he fought in every weight division of his day from fly to heavy that is some achievement
