Just read it on www.sport1.de. I'll summarize it: Heavyweight boxer Solis gets a new chance. He will fight Varol Vekiloglu on Oct 14th for the IBF Intercontinental title. His knee injury was so bad that he needed 3 surgeries to recover. By now Solis has already started with roadword. Öner said that Solis "defeated" Klitschko in the first round and Solis himself says that he will win against anyone if his knee withstands.
his knee obviously wasnt that bad or he wouldnt be anywhere near fighting fit by now...and making a comeback against another bum ffs..could have seen this coming a mile off.fighting bums shouting about how he was beating vitali (even though vitali landed the more punches was the agressor and scored a kd) all to get another title shot..he dosnt deserve one unless he beats some top 10 guys...haye deserves another shot before this guy
No doubt about it. Solis was plodding around like a fat slob of lard, then goes down on the first punch (a grazing shot), losing the round 8-10 and getting KTFO. Clearly won
Good to see him back. He likely will come in over weight for this first fight back. Make no mistake about it though, Solis based on his technical ability is the 3rd best HW out their and if in shape would run riot in any era.
He is such a waste of talent. I truly believe that he could give the brothers problems. He has good power, good movement (even with his body) and he has great technical skills. But he throws everything away with his work ethic and his out of shape living..
The problem is talent alone is overrated and maybe makes 20 or 30% of a great fighter. The other 70% (IMO) are discipline, a great team (trainer, manager, dietician, doctors etc. etc.), passion and determination. Solis is not showing any hunger for greatness at all. His diet is ****, his training discipline is horrible and his passion for the sport appears to be way below average. The problem with guys like Solis is that they get paid millions upon signing their pro contract, without having to put in any blood, sweat and tears. Same with Harrison and Povetkin. Their passion and hunger for achievement quickly goes to zero while they spend their money, buy cars and chill out at the clubs and beach.
Are their ever any fights in boxing nowadays which are not for belts/titles? this is a major part of whats wrong with this sport... their are so many they are now rendered meaningless
Maybe the loss to Vitali has waked him up and he'll take his training seriously now? :think I think Solis vs Haye after he has had a couple of tune ups would be nice.
