Larry Holmes is one of my favorite fighters to watch. Even at an old age he showed he could still handle top heavyweights. I was watching both his fights with Mercer and Holyfield two good performances against real good heavyweights in their primes. Got me thinking how would Holmes from this time do against Anthony Joshua?. In some ways Holmes fights with Mercer and Holyfield were similar to Joshua's match with Klitschko. Joshua is in some ways similar to both Mercer and Holyfield. Similar to Mercer in a sense that his skills and very raw and his physicality is what really makes him stand out. His conditioning is similar to that of Holyfield's, unique training methods and a dedication to his fitness helps make him into the fighter his is. Would Joshua be too much for a crafty older Holmes? or would Holmes be able to use his skills and ring generalship to upset Joshua?

Old Holmes isn't upsetting Jousha, but he could make him look bad on his way to a UD.
