Yes, really. And in circumstances bordering on farce.

It was a close fight coming into the last round, with Warren just behind. However, he seems to have thought that he was in the lead and he ran and moved and did anything but get involved. For the entire final round. He was then astonished to find that he'd lost.

I feel sorry for the kid, but really it's hard to avoid the thought that such a cynical refusal to engage at all got what it deserved.

All 5 Irish boxers have made the last 16 in their weight class.
Two of them did get byes and only one of the other 3 was an underdog but it's still promising.

John Joe Joyce upset Gyula Kate of Hungary having lost to him 3 times in their 3 bouts in the past. Kate had beaten Joyce 23-7 and 32-17 in the past(Don't know the other score) and has a bronze medal from a World Championship and two bronzes from European championships, so it was a great scalp for Joyce.

Dan Campbell has gotten unbelievable criticism in the US over the past year; it's only going to be worse now.

warren. lost. some one should have told him he shouldnt have just float by. his Mistake. if he himself thought he was in the lead, when it was a close match. and he made the decision to just run. its his damn fualt for doing it. i beleive the coaches were all yelling at him to keep fighting.

the light fly's have a really good "world" tourney going on . we have a good supply of world boxers we have a mongolian, thai, ghanaian etc.

chygaev vs Ayrapetyan good little fight. both men giving it there all chygaev a better boxer but a bit open. ayrapetyan is also good but is tiny. 5'2/5'3 or somthing.nice close fight really anjoyable chygaev looks set to medel he has nice fast hands and is able to punch with his hook and cross combo.

yampier hernandez. reminds me of yan barthelamy. very open but immesnly long arms. great jab . it's pumping awaynot landing much to be honest but it's keepign the roy jones wannabe dostiev. oh good jab by dostiev makes heranandez take a double take. good left cross by hernandez. 1-1 round not much in it. the rest of the fight was onse sided hernandez slips the sloppyier punches and uses crisper technique. very good left hand but not much power on it.

    plange-tanamor
i told you ghanaian team is bringing the full force. plange just out worked and out punched harry tanamor. pretty big upset there. he kept behind a great defence that stopped everythign coming thru then landed counter-copmbinations. great performance. i personally felt tanamor was knocked down. but refs are refs.

chinese southpaw zhang zhilei obliterated the plump 5'10 moroccan mohhamad amanissi. real one sided and a bit of a shame not one point for the little guy. but man did zhang have a right hook it was a a punch bag. as the commentator said "maybe the armchair at home had a better chance" sad but in some ways true. great technique for a tall guy and a decent physique. but tired when he could of clearly got his man out of there. bad idea to let a man stay for extra rounds.

cuban super heavy is out. robert acea just didnt do anything. a real dissapoiontment. the ukrainian just threw punches when he could but to be honest the cuban seemed not in his right mind.

Ruslan Myrsatayev of khazakstan had a good little boxer puncher style. came against betting fav daniel beahan. 1st round tko. the kazhak came foreard with a jab and threw a lean right hand and made beahans leg turn to jelly. ref called a 8 count. but nothign changed. ruslan swarmed him with precise hooks and streights. then a right hook made beahans head rock back . which he was given a 8 couint and didnt seem hurt at all...but stopped. terrible stoppage but a good performance from the kazakhstani.

oscar rivas has a go agianst pulev. pulev the fav. wow great body attack by oscar. wow really good form the columbian . comes in behind the jab in a tight guard and throws big shots, pulev is all over the place. not hurt just being punched around. big first round for rivas. a very proffesioanl stlye to be honest. well after all that rivas is clinching like ruiz awful display. the bulgarian is pissed off. knocks him down . 8 count is given to rivas. give him a warning ref!!!!! DERGH good start by oscar but then he just dussed got hurt and is now doing everything to pass the time...oh he goes to his knees. run at least dont bore us all.
terrible...pulev leaves the ring as soon as it's ovah.

real big surprise was david price KOing islam Timurziev. it was a decent first round with islam landing some good right hand wieghed out with prices left jab. after a close but clear 2 points advantage to Timurziev. it seemed to go back into normal operations as timurziev started a pretty good start with price against the ropes. throwing a big right han......OH NO 1-2 by price drops him to his knees. my god what a shot. timurziev is up and comes fore...another 1-2 by price knocks him down again...he looks ok.
well the ref didnt think so. it's over tko win for price.
    Price: "COME ON YOU BAS'TEDS"

    you suck:twisted:

yeah terrible scoring if you saw the super heavywieght fight between goliath zhiang vs some 230lbs 5'10 20 year old form morroco....the moroccan landed some good uppercuts very cleanly and didnt get scored while the chinese just threw a right hand behind the head (which was covered up) and he got a point:huh .

the koes have been very suspect. everyone here thought david price clearly knocked islam down 2 times but was still weary and mobile.

to win you got to have a small body a high guard and throw flashy combo's and throw straight punches...very rare body shape if you ask me...look a plange by the way
dont get me started on body shots:patsch
