    17 years ago today (1993) the G-Man demolished Jay Bell in Puerto Rico with a sickening body shot, the first punch thrown in the fight. One of the quickest knockouts in history in McClellan's first defence of the WBC Middleweight Title he won from Julian Jackson 3 months earlier.

    On 9th August 2003 we had a Fight of the Year candidate between Acelino Freitas and Jorge Barrios for the WBA and WBO Super Featherweight titles. Unfortunately, the full fight is no longer on YouTube, but there is a video of the 11th round, a great round and what a punch by Freitas at the bell.

    On this day in 1979, John Conteh attempted to regain the WBC Light Heavyweight Title against champion Matthew Saad Muhammad who was making the first defence of his title. Absolutely brilliant fight. :yep
