Seen Mundine on the news last night with an eye patch over his good eye so as to get the bad eye ready for the fight and just incase something happens to his good one he can depend on his other eye.
Thought it was a good tactic and will only this once not bag him for fighting the level of opponent he is fighting due to this injury.

Yes this is true.

Although Dave Sands potentially could have been better if he didn't die so young.

Hey percy davo and uppercut, please answer this very simple question:

Do you understand what 'sanctioning' means?

good to see you use www.dictionary.com uppercut, but I meant in the context of boxing.

The official WBA rules and regulations safety code used to sanction any WBA fight state:

"Article 1 a) point 6:

Vision - both eyes without the use of lens - not less than J7 for close vision or no more than 20/100 for distant vision."

Here's the link:

http://www.wbaonline.com/legal/LegalStatements/scode.pdf

Here's a link to a document explaining the various ratings used when testing for poor vision:

http://www.ski.org/Colenbrander/Images/Low_Vision_Exam.pdf

I can guarantee you that if Mundine suffers even slightly bad vision in either eye, the WBA will not sanction him to fight.

He is simply trying to create drama by wearing an eye patch and claiming he's doing it to prepare for his eye being no use to him. Major bull**** alert here - he's supposed to be fighting in 6 days time, and if his eye isn't good enough to fight now, then it won't be good enough when he has to sit his medical for the fight.

He would know by now if his eye was no good, and he would be announcing his retirement, so he still has no excuse for fighting an opponent of this low calibre.

Geez you're touchy

There is no excuse for Mundine to be fighting this bum, regardless of how often he dresses up like Captain Feathersword on TV.

If his eye is bad, he doesn't get sanctioned, simple as, dumb arse - no amount of wearing eye patches will prepare him for the ring, because he won't be allowed to step in it if his eye is that bad :deal :yep

Jesus, you nuthuggers are ****ing dumb fluffers :-(

If backing someone you have known since child hood is called nut hugging then I wave the white flag.
Id say you would be in the same boat had you known some one since child hood and seen them go on to bigger and better things you would want them to excel and Im sure you would barrack for them. But then again it sounds like you realy dont give a ****.

Mate, you started this thread - if you don't want anyone to respond to your posts, maybe you shouldn't post here?

I disagreed with your statement that he is entitled to fight this bum due to his eye injury, for the reasons I stated.

It's called having a difference of opinion, no need to lose it mate.
