I know the beef is old news, but what if that fight happened?

Kimbo gave Mitrione hell, slamming him on a couple of occasions. That's probably what exhausted Kimbo, but not entirely the point. If Kimbo could close the distance and take Mitrione down, why can't Tito? Tito is a legitimate wrestler, hell, a legitimate grappler.

I'm glad Ortiz got his fight against Bader, it was more meaningful.

Still, is the UFC crazy to not milk Tito's fame for a fight with Mitrione?

Or, should they just leave that one alone?

mittrione (and kimbo) are legit hw's (if not the same size as lesnar and carwin). tito would have to work at putting on some size and strenght and he's better off finishing up where he's at (where exactly would he go after possibly beating mittrione a top 15 maybe hw? not worth the work imo)

How is Mitrione a legit heavyweight ? Who has he beaten other than very very low level fighters in the UFC. 2 of his 5 wins were against KImbo and Big Baby = absolute cans. Mitrione is still very much unproven atm.

He's talking about size and weight. Kimbo also being mentioned was the clue.

And of course he's unproven, he's a young fighter and has been quite impressive so far. What more do people want? Not everyone can go the Jon Jones route.

    I knew it was coming.

Mitrione. Too good for Kongo, smarter than Barry.

if they fought at the same weight tito would win, skill and experience gap is just too wide even for a really good athlete like mitrione.

Mitrione's a nobody. It won't be long before he'll be stacking shelves and his UFC stint will be a distant memory.

Whichever career he pursues, it will involving him adding more cans to his CV....

I really dont understand this Mitrione hype one bit. He's done nothing to even suggest he deserves a fight with Tito, let alone a thread dedicated to if he will win or not

He'll get tooled by JDS, Cain, Carwin, Mir, and Roy. Hell, Id even put my money on Dan Seven taking him down and getting the UD at this point

:deal If there's one thing i can't stand and that scrubs with big mouths. Mitrione is LESS than a nobody. He's completely irrelevant and barely a step away from a regional promotion.

I wasn't wondering if he'll win it. I would pick Tito.

I'm asking if the UFC should milk Ortiz' name one more time? Or reward Ortiz with another payday? However you want to look at it.

I don't care about Mitione. If he defeats Kongo, I might start to pay attention, but that still won't be making him an elite fighter. I'd still have him below people like Nelson, and would take Nelson over him even if he beats Kongo.

Again, that's not really my point. I drink a lot, so forgive me if my point is often hidden.

Does Ortiz/UFC deserve the payday, or are they stupid to miss the opportunity, or opportunistic enough to scam the fans....? That's more along the lines of what I was after.

Fair enough Rek fella, I misunderstood the thread.
I dont see the point of him fighting a LHW, I mean recently Dana said he refused Leben, and ummm, that guy with the big mouth who keeps failing at everything he does, ummmm cant remember his name, anyway those guys offer to fight Evans because he wants them to stay at Middleweight
