    There was a lot of hype surrounding him a few years back.

    I seem to recall him signing with Mayweather Promotions, and had his pro debut scheduled to happen on the undercard of Mayweather vs Maidana II ... but he pulled out at the eleventh hour, for some reason.

    Does anybody know what the deal is with this lad? :?

    I remember hearing about him a few years back and that he had signed a pro deal with Mayweather - but haven't heard anything since.

    Pretty sure he used to box out of the Pea**** Gym & fought Jack Bateson after only have a handful of fights at the time.

    Yes, I think he fought, and lost to, Jack Bateson in an ABA finals, in something like his 3rd or 4th amateur fight.
