    Taken from another website.

What do you make of this list that are supposedly overrated:

    ***

    Ingemar Johansson
Tyson (media glorifies him too much)
    Ali (same with tyson)
    James Braddock
    Felix Trinidad
    Ray Leonard

    Active fighters:

Martinez may be one because his recent performances have been subpar.
I'd probably say David Haye after all the talk from the fans after his win over Chisora.
    Alvarez
    Maidana

    Ali and Ray Leonard overrated?

Whoever made that list must be ******ed.

Those two are as clear as ATG as it gets.

I can't say Johannsen is overrated because in terms of being rated he is mostly just a footnote.

Ali is a strange case IMO. I don't see him as being great on a technique level but IMO he was one of the most talented natural athletes to walk the earth. His athleticism is what made him fantastic.

I lean towards Ray Leonard is being somewhat underrated. He was pound for pound one of the best fighters for years and years. Whatever he had to do to win a fight, he would do it. Whether it be box intelligently or throw an explosive punch to his opponent's liver. Yet he isn't really talked about much as far as I know.

I have to go with Max Baer and Rocky Marciano as being overrated. I don't think Baer had two-handed skills and Marciano fought probably the weakest opposition I can think of in an era when there was a lot of "outside influence" AKA mafia involvement in professional boxing.

Quite frankly, I think when we look at heavyweights of the past in detail they are more mythological than of actual substance.

Ali's the best heavyweight ever.Period.His being overrated would be laughable.I dislike Ray Leonard more than any other fighter in the sport, but no way he's overrated. He's the best welter and maybe the best p4p fighter I've seen in my lifetime.Easily the most overrated I've seen is Naseem Hamed, because his supporters swear he's this ATG featherweight despite the fact he never beat anyone that was special.

I agree with Tyson to a degree, certainly after his jail time, he was living off his name for a long time IMO. The fight with Lewis was fraudulent, to think two 'LIVE' fighters were fighting was just silly!

    defly Tyson among casual fans

They think he's the best ever since he was a knockout artist

When it comes to ATG's from a different era sometimes removed 4x over from today...
    I leave it alone.

But out of today's fighters I'd say Martinez off that list is defo a bit pumped up!
Good fighter but not Top 3, IMO.

(Based on that Williams KO & a Drunk Pavlik win...?)

I love mike, but I'm sick of these "If Tyson was in prime, didn't fire Kevin Rooney, broke his back, bangin hookers" on every Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield, Douglas etc videos.
