That fight was great live but is not a great re-watch. Too much holding and leaning from Fury. The first 3 or 4 rounds are still very entertaining

Maybe Ibeabuchi vs Tua, they hit each other a lot but the punches never seemed to rock either one of them

Leo Santa Cruz vs Abner Mares, lots of punches but not much venom on them

Katsunari Takayama vs Francisco Rodriguez Jr. came to mind. I remember it being a very hot topic in some hard-core boxing circle, as example of some epic little-men battle.. I didn't enjoy it that much. A lot of punches thrown, but a lot of flurries with no impact from Takayama in particular - and a dominant win for Rodriguez, so no real drama.

Wow tough crowd. Most mentioned are some my favourite fights.

I’ve never rated Ibeabuchi-Tua that highly. Lots of punches thrown but pretty devoid of action otherwise and I thought Ike won clear.

Chavez v Taylor 1 comes to mind. Good fight, dramatic ending, but not the battle of the ages it was hyped as.

Really,? I think it's far better and more enjoyable that Pryor-Arguello I which I find to be incredibly overrated.

Oscar de la Hoya vs Ike Quartey is regarded as a great fight but for me it didn't do much for me other than a few good rounds.

Foreman V Lyle was one of the best fights of all time.

Victor Ortiz vs Andre Berto is quite overrated honestly. The first 6 rounds were competitive and both shared knockdowns but the last half of the fight was pretty one sided for Ortiz where Berto had no answers after the last knockdown.

I have it in my top 5-10 fights! I understand where you’re coming from though. It’s one I’ve rewatched loads but the first time I saw it I was slightly underwhelmed but I think I’d watched Pryor-Arguello 1 and Chacon-Limon 4 just before it.

Tapia-Ayala 1 - just didn’t do it for me and I thought it was a pretty weak FOTY choice that year (1999).

Good fight but definitely not FOTY of 1999 IMO.
I found Nestor Garza vs Kozo Ishii, Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym vs Andrian Kaspari, Paul Ingle vs Manuel Medina, Fernando Vargas vs Winky Wright, James Page vs Jose Luis Lopez, Diego Corrales vs Robert Garcia better fights from 1999.

Talking about weak FOTY choices... Gatti Vs Ruelas for '97.

Also, Ramirez Vs Rosario isn't overrated, but I think Santos Vs Medal or Bramble Vs Mancini would be my pick for '84. (Just sayin')
