Boxing in UK? Popular?

Na mate, maybe 30% of Brits have heard of Ricky Hatton. Since maybe 6 months ago, 20% have heard of Calzaghe. Oh, and Amir Khan. That is it. No one had heard of Mayweather over here until the Hatton fight. Most people think that Tyson is still the HW champ and Hatton is the best of all time, and Khan in the best in the world.

People have not got a clue about boxing in the UK.

India and China each have over a billion people and no top 10 P4P guys. They must REALLY suck.

Back to the original point - look at where the top 10 take most of their fights, not where they were born. Then the US has a 7-3 advantage, even with your gerryrigged list (I don't think Hatton or Haye in the top 10 is "prototypical" at this point, although they're somewhere in the 8-15 range each). It's not like huge money fights are going to be made regularly in Mexico or Puerto Rico, and the US is just a skip away.

The UK does well for a country of its size.

Puerto Rico is the true p4p country of boxing though, population 4 million?!

I did not say they were smart fans... I said they were fans... they fill soccer stadiums to watch a fight.... That is popular. You would not see that alot here.
