I think younger Barney Ross would have beaten Armstrong. And I'm not too impressed by the names he beat or the stages of their career when he beat them.

For me, RJJ was the most talented boxer in history.

    Nice.
I'm still unsure whether I'm going this semester or not (money troubles).

I'm unsure about my future so there's a part of me that wishes I could take time off.

I hope everything gets worked out for you. Do you want to register?

Armstrong is No.2 for most historians and is for me. He did fade eatly but in his peak he was outstanding and his P4P feats are unsurpassed.....a featherweight falling just short of holding 4 weight class wins when there were only 8 divisions.

Ross was a class act but I doubt he would have beaten the younger Armstrong who was just awesome.

RJJ was ridiculously talented but the old argument about the level of his opposition must go against him.

As for Robinson........he the Michael Jordan of boxing........nobody did it better.

Can anyone tell me how to embed a youtube video into a message?......

I've spent the last hour trying to put a SRR video into this message but can't work it out.

    1.Langford
    2.Greb
    3.Robinson
    4.Armstrong
    5.Fitz
    6.Charles
    7.Duran
    8.Gans
    9.Leonard
    10.Pep
    11.Ali
    12.Moore
    13.Canzoneri
    14.Wilde
    15.McFarland

I'm solid on my top 3. The next 6 you can bandy about as far as positioning on this list goes, but they are my top 10. Pep through Packey is all debatable. Other names I tossed around were George Dixon, Sandy Saddler, Terry McGovern(who knocked out the reigning bantamweight, featherweight and lightweight champions all within a space of 8 months. Top that!), Mickey Walker, Joe Walcott, Eder Jofre

The same historians don't even rank McFarland. That's no authority to me. He won his 3 titles against not very strong opposition (Ross was past his prime). This has been pointed out on this forum before (several years I think). What if he was born 10 years later? He'd be lucky to have won 1 title.

I said, talent-wise I see him superior to anyone else. Including Robinson.

Did what better? There were better boxers than Robinson, especially in defense and in-fighting skills.

If you think I haven't seen Robinson, you are wrong. I've seen close to 40 of his fights (sure, many of them are only highlights; and it's not Youtube where I'm watching them, better quality than that).

I personally think only 3 guys have a claim to the top spot. Robinson, Armstrong and Greb.
