Interesting thread on the General re Manny pulling checkmate on Floyd. :D

    Here's the original news link:
    http://sports.inquirer.net/140591/pacquiao-to-mayweather-lets-fight-for-charity

    January 19th, 2014

    MANNY PACQUIAO

“I’m not desperate to fight him just for the sake of money or material things. I’m not the one seeking this fight rather it’s the boxing fans all over the world,”

“I am ready to submit myself to any kind of stringent drug testing. Above all, I challenge him to include in our fight contract that both of us will not receive anything out of this fight. We will donate all the proceeds of the fight – guaranteed prize, should there be any, gate receipts, pay-per-view and endorsements – to charities around the world,” Pacquiao said.

“Floyd, if you’re a real man, fight me. Let’s do it for the love of boxing and for the fans. Let’s do it not for the sake of money. Let’s make the boxing fans happy.”

“As to my tax problem, my lawyers are fixing it already. I’m paying my taxes religiously. It is just a matter of reconciling our records with the tax agencies both here and abroad. Should there be any discrepancy, rest assured, I will settle it. I’m a lawmaker and I’m a law-abiding citizen,”

Sounds a bit desperate to me.

Hardly checkmate is it? not the first time a boxer has said he'll fight a higher profile opponent for nothing

The reason it's checkmate is whichever way you look at it unless Floyd accepts it looks as if he's ducking, no?

Pac's saying I want the fight this much, do you?

If that isn't checkmate then please tell me what is?

No *******s or *****s please. Just neutrals with clear vision..

Pac can say whatever he wants because he knows Floyd won't deal with Arum as his is a poisonous thieving ****.

Pac's just pulled off the ultimate self defence move.

He's neutralised his opponent without throwing a punch. :D

He already did that in court, now he's done it street style by calling his bluff.

It's a clever move from PAC, this will never happen, anyone with half a brain knows this. Arum would promote half the fight regardless and I wonder how much "profit" would be left when all the numbers are added!!

Floyd would never do this, who would. You don't dedicate your life to a craft only to reach the very pinnacle and fight for nothing!!

On the plus side, at least PAC has finally called him out!! None of this mumbling and stumbling speak to my promoter bollocks. So fair play to him fir that. Hopefully we see this fight before my kids go to university. (My eldest is 2)

It is checkmate unless Floyd agrees and then we can see if Pac is bluffing

Mayweather wouldn't fight Pacquio when he could have potentially earn near 100million, he isn't going to fight him for free.

Pac can say what he likes, Arum will never agree to giving the money away. Pac knows this too

So if he's not fighting him for money why did he turn down the 40 Million offer and demand 50/50.................
