Martinez is a professional boxer, GSP isn't. I don't care how athletic GSP is, you can't just stick him in a boxing ring and expect him to beat a guy like Pacquiao. It takes years of training, and actual fights to master the sport of boxing. There are so many little nuances that effect the outcome of a fight. GSP would be out of his element in a boxing ring.
He would shoot and take him to the ground....you put in a top Boxer against any top MMA and they will always shoot to take them down!

Pac might be able to beat some lower tier MMA fighters with a few months of MMA training and take down defense training.

If he keeps moving in and out and stays aways from takedowns, then I think he could have some succes. I doubt h'd beat GSP, but against the right opoonent, he could win at least 1 fight out of 10
I dont care what anything says, but weight ****ing matters, especially when you are talking about 2 athletes. you get a small guy who can fight a bit on the street and get a big much bigger guy who cannot, chances are if you cant hurt the big man, you're gonna get ****ed over bad. You honestly think Pac negates a 40lbs disadvantage?? Margarito had half that and managed to hurt pac when he hit him and he's a limited fighter. You obviously aren't thinking this through. Two different athletes and in this case GSP would be competing in a completely different sport against one of the best in the sport, 180 on fight night or not, Pac destroys GSP in a boxing ring.
Again, you're comparing GSP TO PROFESSIONAL BOXERS. If anyone isn't thinking it through, it's you. To prepare to fight Pac, Hoya was sparring against Ivan Calderon. There's around a 40 lb. difference, if not more, between these two guys. They are also both pro boxers. Calderon, was working him over in sparring. Now if Calderon can work over another pro boxer who is 40 lbs. heavier than him, why can't Pac do the same against a guy who doesn't have a pro or amatuer background in boxing?
This guy would get obliterated by Pac in a boxing match. All those fancy ass kicks and **** aren't allowed in the squared circle. On the flip side, Aldo would kick the **** out of Pac in an MMA fight.
2 COMPLETELY different sports. About as related as hockey and basketball. Both have 5 guys attempting to put an object in the other teams net. Put Lebron James on skates and show me how his game translates. Take the stick out of Daniel Sedin's hand and give him a ball and let him post up Dwight Howard. I'd go as far to say that the WORST boxer beats the BEST UFC fighter in a boxing match AND the BEST boxer loses to the WORST UFC fighter when it goes to the ground. None of you guys can do my job better than me, and vice versa!
I dunno he's got decent boxing skills, good head movement and good power and i've actually seen his fights. He's far better striker than GSP though. Not saying he wins, but it would be competitive and he's probably close the comparable combat athlete to Manny in terms of size and all that. If there was anyone he should fight it should be Aldo.
