Told all me casual mates to get on Ugas at 3/1 on Skybet, they won’t have listened. And neither did I to myself.
It's probably a blessing in disguise that Spence pulled out of this fight. Hopefully Pacquiao retires now. For me, PED'S or not I still think he would have beaten Mayweather had they boxed in 2009 - 10. The run Manny went on from the Morales rematch until the third fight with Marquez is arguably one of the best in boxing history. For a while I thought that Loma was the best boxer I'd ever seen and then I looked back at some of Manny's fights and realised he was on another level altogether.
Had it 116 112 and I wanted manny to win looked slow got caught far too many right hands. Footwork and speed weren't there and to be honest a spence, garcia or Taylor all stop manny. Been a great career a modern legend time to hang them up
If this is the end for Manny then it’s an unbelievable career and thank you for flattening that muppet Hatton.
Clear winner was Ugas, Pac didn't look shot but at the same time he's done at world level - timing and explosiveness faded and speed going as well. Still big money fights for him specifically against Khan if AK can beat Brook, stadium fight over here perhaps. If Josh Taylor was seriously considering going up to 147 then he should do it straight after Catterall, Ugas is a very winnable fight for Josh, get that WBA belt and some leverage in negotiations for a mega fight with Spence or Crawford. Anyone watch the undercard ?? Big improvement on the previous Matchrooom shite and encouraging Smith talking about a new season of boxing about to start next month, no mention of any domestic fights but here's hoping.
Hope manny retires now and all the best to the great man,it should be a kick up the arse for the welterweight division now with the old cash cow out the way you would think.
