I got my money on pac.

 

Depends on weight and the length of the fight. At 130-135 over 15 rounds Pac would have no chance at all.

 

140+ is Pac quite clearly.

135 is interesting.

130 and down is Arguello.

 

Alexis Arguello was a dynamite puncher in either hand, and for what he lacked in hand-speed he made up for with great timing and pin-point accuracy.

Manny Pacquiao would have mobility and speed on his side, and although not terribly difficult to hit, he was hard to hurt and possessed considerable power of his own.

I'd favor Alexis Arguello over the 12 round distance at 130lbs. Pacquiao will have some early returns, setting a fast pace, but he will become more and more cautious as Alexis starts to touch him. Arguello was a devastating puncher at 130lbs, he wasn't trained to make contact with his opponent, he punched through them. You combat speed with timing and accuracy, and Alexis possessed both and would land his patented right hand at regular junctures in my opinion, just as Marquez did, often enough to earn a late stoppage.

Don't get me wrong, I see this being a tight affair with maybe Manny leading on the cards at the time of the stoppage. Alexis was fairly stationary and could be bamboozled by speed, but Manny wasn't elusive, he'd hit you and then stay there to be hit back. You don't beat Alexis by trading with him, you beat him by boxing him from the outside and using angles. Did we ever see Manny Pacquiao at Super Featherweight do that? I can't recall.

That's your reasoning? Ganigan put Alexis down so therefore Pacquiao beats him? It took Aaron Pryor 14 rounds and a mysterious black bottle to stop Arguello and that was up at 140lbs when he was past his peak. I saw Marquez hurt Pacquiao at Super Featherweight with a left hook. Considering Alexis hit considerably harder than JMM, how do you feel the Filipino would weather Arguello's big shots? He's almost certainly going to have at some point, Alexis was simply too good and too accurate not to land at some point, especially on a fighter who's there to be hit like Manny was at 130lbs? Would this not factor in...because Ganigan scored a K/D?

I see no reason to subject Manny to 15 rounds. He's never had to do it.

 

I don't see there being any difference in result at 130-135lbs. Manny has only campaigned at 140lbs once and that was against a fighter Alexis would have sparked as well, so that one is a little more difficult.
