Pac endorsing Gatorade seems like a perfect match. Top Rank would be wise to try to reestablish that opportunity.
Endorsements for boxers outside of boxing equipment, clothing lines, Beer and Red Bull are 'rare". They only come around once a fighter's name has become mar-key in the sport. The problem with most boxers is they usually have a very poor image outside the ring. Obviously Pacquiao has little experience managing endorsement offers but how many boxers do? Those that do, don't have 'hundreds' to chose from. His name brand is huge and it probably takes an image consultants and marketing gurus to manage it properly. The people that should have been on top of his name brand is Top Rank, but obviously even Top Rank with it's longevity as experience in the sport wasn't ready either. It doesn't make him dumb it just makes him ignorant.
Pacquiao WAS dumb. Glad he's putting things in order now. No, put Koncz out of the way and leave the entire marketing to her.
it would awesome to see pac explode after this change. Would be cool to see him land that gatorade deal and start being featured in some gateorade commercials Then that could just add to his momentum, add to his name, and his star may continue to rise. The only problem is hes running out of 'established' stars like the hattons, the cottos, even the margaritos and mosleys to some extent, hopefully he will fight some of the new blood out there and it will give the next wave of fighters some exposure as well. Pac is one of the best things to happen to boxing in awhile.
