with pac v hatton set to take place in a shitty 15'000 vegas area, i would estimate that around 25'000 brits will travel to vegas for the fight regardless of whether they manage to get a ticket or not. i was wondering, how many pac fans usually attend his fights in vegas? how many pac fans do you estimate will attend vegas for the hatton fight? do pac fans usually turn up in there thousands for the weigh in? with thousands of pissed up brits and phillipino's not even getting a ticket for the fight, do you think there is potential for crowd trouble on may 2nd?
You never know, perhaps the Brits and Pinoys can both raise their glasses to an outstanding boxing matchup and all have a great time.
few Filipinos travel to the US when pac fights. mist of us are not well off and the fare alone could cost half a year's salary for the middle class filipino. so i thhink there will really be more brits than filipinos in that fight, which is perfectly fine as long as pac wins
Well in every Pac fight since the first Mab win, Pacquiao's fans always outnumber everyone else and that includes the Hector Vasquez fight where Pac was the co-feature to Morales/Raheem which was the main event. They always show up but arent as rowdy as the other fans.
If Filipino fight fans can get along, side by side with passionate Mexican fight fans everytime there is a Pacquiao fight, I dont think they'll have trouble with British boxing fans. Only the very rich Filipinos or the US based Pinoys get to watch the fights live.
i'm guessin' about only 7000 filipinos show up at the T&M for this fight. The Pac-Diaz fight didn't sell well at all.
the majority of the pacfans that turn up will be from america as his country men are poor and will not be able to afford to see it live.
I'm completely unfamiliar with the Phillipines but couldn't the TV networks out there make some contribution towards showing the fight live? I know it's all tied in with HBO and the promoters but a little good will on a huge event like this can't financially hurt can it?
this is obviously seen as a massive fight by hattons fans. but thinking about it, pacs fans probably won't view this as such a mega fight considering he has already mixed it up with the likes of barrera, morales, marquez, and de la hoya. maybe hattons fans will be more motivated to get the lions share of the tickets for this fight.
I wouldn't anticipate much crowd trouble. For one, Filipinos are typically very docile and mild mannered people (of course there are exceptions to every rule) and second, from what I've experienced Hatton's fans (as rowdy as they may sound) are very respectful and are there to cheer their man on, not to start trouble. For the record, Golota's fans are another story entirely. I've been to 3 Golota fights and his ******* fans go to the fights solely to start trouble. Watching the fight is secondary to Golota's fans. If you're a peaceful and respectful Golota fan you're excluded and I apologize for generalizing but you know what I'm talking about.
You dont know filipinos do you? You fight one, your fighting there great uncle, father, grandfather, mother, son, daughter, ect ect. The Brits would be outnumbered 30-1 atleast.
