Barrera is a hybrid between a boxer and an inside fighter. Pacquiao dealt with him rather well in the first fight right? I agree that Pacquiao isn't much of an inside fighter, but his attributes have been enough as of late to deal with other inside fighters. We just gotta see how pac handles 135lbs, which I don't think he is going to like as much as he expects.

manny pac is primarily an outside slugger. but he does occassionally jump inside with his buzzsaw style and delivery fast combos to the body and then to the head, after which he immediately jumps out. pac's superior hand and footspeed will not allow diaz to deliver his inside punches as pac won't stay there for long. pac also has amazing stamina which is very much under-rated in these forums.

and every boxer sustains cuts when headbutted at the right spot with the right timing.

i also can't believe how pac is noticably taller than d. diaz. diaz didn't look that short when he fought erik. i always thought that pac will be the shorter fighter here, him being just about 5'6".

no. morales took a savage beating in the 6th round. from that round on to the TKO in the 10th, it was all pac. pac also won the 2nd round, when he almost decked erik if not for erik holding on the ring rope to keep himself up.

What I meant what he isn't used to fighting a lot of southpaw fighters.. This is one of the concerns going into this fight..

There is no fighter in Pac's division who would fight in close quarters with him. Even the Great Eric Morales tried to capitalize with his longer reach and very respectable power tried to mintain a certain distance, just like JMM and MAB did. In the 2nd and 3rd EM-Pac fight, when eric started mixing it up, it ended disastrously.

Many post had already discussed that to defeat Pac, one has to box, not slug it out (I can not recall someone starting a thread about doing an infighting with Pac). Now, this lightweight division is entirely different because two factors come into play, namely, will Pac's power have effect on a true LW, and will Pac be able to withstand a LW power.

Diaz seems like a good testing ground on his foray to the division. He is probably not the tops in the division but he is not a bum either, in other words credible. Simply saying, when you are learning to swim, you do not go to the deepest part of the water first.

This fight has less to do with Diaz -- the epitome of a scouting-report fighter -- and much more to do with how Manny handles 135. I wonder if his punches will have the same impact he's accustomed to having.

Eventually, he's going to encounter a big 135 (or 140) and get KOd. Probably won't be Diaz, but Pacquiao is another fighter or two from a devastating KO defeat.

And I'm a Manny fan, but his best days were at 122.

This what happened when you fight Pac on the inside. Since he hook up with Roach, Pac learned how to move with his feet. His Powerful left prevents anymore inside fighting.

His inside fighting is respectable. He's got the advantage with his speed against Diaz. Not only that, Pac gots a very aggressive style that is going to surprise Diaz.

    Paquiao UD.

    Pacquiao's in-fighting skills:

-When you hit him, he tries to hit you back.
-When you hit him once, he tries to hit you twice
-When you hurt his tummy, he'll try to hurt your tummy more
