yeah, Chad isn't scared of that fight by no means but thats not a particularly appealing fight financially for him. Hopkins went on record saying he'd get a contract signed with the winner of the Johnson fight, but he's backed off on that and that was the fight Chad had pretty much been waiting for all year. Thats the fight that would put the money in his pockets....now the Pascal fight would do so too, Montreal or Quebec would be abuzz for that one and the gate would be huge, but Cloud doesn't really do much for him in that department.
The reason Chad vacated the IBF in the first place was because his mandatory was Cloud and neither HBO or Showtime wanted to pick it up.....beats me why though, that would be an exciting fight
Thats cos Froch is the unbeatemn supermiddleweight champion of the world in case you didnt realise ! Pascal would beat Dawson IMO ... Pascal has the heart of a lion .. Dawsons a coward who would be beaten by Cloud anyhow ...
Good fight with Dawson being too well rounded for Pascal. I like that Dawson is getting out of the seniors business and fighting some young prime guys. Tarver and Johnson were tough guys but four fights in a row with 40 year olds doesn't look good over time. Pascal is a good fighter but I see Dawson by UD here.
If the fight is going to happen in September, I sure hope Dawson won't sit out that long. He's had too many long breaks as it is for a young fighter. But yes, this is the best fight that can get made in the division. Also, remember that Cloud would be contractually locked in to fight Dawson on HBO, but his dumbass team turned down a spot on the undercard of Dawson/Johnson II.
