Thats right, now before the Cobra Crew wagon rolls in all gunz'a'blazin I'v erewatched this fight, and while it was decent enough its no where near a classic or FOTY standard.

It's pretty clear that Pascal was the more skilled of the 2, in fact on many occasions Froch was taking flush shots to the face in order to get his punches back. I was actually scremaing at Pascal to go with more workrate because IMO he lost the fight rather than Froch winning it.

Froch showed a complete lack of adaptability, rather than adapting he relied on his chin and workrate to scrape some of the rounds. Imagine if he was facing someone with a multi-faceted approach ?

With regards to the Taylor fight, im picking Taylor to win but my confidence in Taylor isnt high and I wouldnt actually be surprised if Froch won because Taylor is so mentally redundant. Still, Froch isnt the next big thing.

I think you are being a bit too critical of Froch. That fight with Pascal was fought at a very high standard indeed.

I never usually do, but everything that I know about boxing tells me that Taylor shouldnt have lost to Pavlik either time which tells me there's something wrong with Jermain that Im not seeing.

I still think he wins if he wants the fight enough.

Christ read what I've said, I've given my reasons so unless you want to prove me wrong on them; not give me a completely general response.

Froch didn't have to fight like that, he did it to put on a show, he would have beaten Pascal any way, any day. No one is going to look at the fight in the future and see the scorecards (if they haven't seen the fight) and say that was a close fight, and it wasn't.

Yeah typical ESB reaction, I was actually thinking how long would it be before some idiot said HOW WAS HE EXPOSED HE WON DIDNT HE ?

    Thanks for affirming the stereotype.

    Sigh

Did it to put on a show ? Haha, he was going life and death ! But yeah whatever you wanna call it !

Froch's serious limitations were exposed in that fight, enough to tell me he'll never be an elite level fighter.

If your avatar wasnt blinding you maybe you'd see that aswell.

I'll agree that Froch didn't look good against Pascal, but saying he was exposed is going too far. But I heard he had a cracked/bruised rib or something? Unless that was another fight, I'm not sure. He looked **** anyway.

Regardless, I think Froch has his hands full against Taylor, but I'm still picking him as I think Taylor hasn't got the fire in him to win the fight, especially as Froch is going to look to take him into the trenches.

I think Froch was stunned a bit that Pascal stood toe to toe with him. Even watching the fight, i was thinking to myself Pascal has the movement of a slick boxer more than what he was showing. Maybe he thought that Pascal had played into his hands and this was his sort of fight and didn't need to change his plan.

    He did look terrible though.

I think it goes down to wether you think Froch wasn't as good as you thought he should have been, or Pascal was a lot better
