there are no facts here just predictions. as usual on classic sites, most predictions are full of crap. i have no problem with someone picking patterson but to think jones would have not had a shot is ridiculous. i posted the same thing about jones vs burley. if patterson defeated a prime jones it would be by far his greatest victory.

I am not sure that Jones would face Jackson to be honest.

I like Patterson but Roy was never really pushed in his prime...prime to prime may be a great fight

Love it how Jones always losses by KO. I wish he retired before moving down.

i love in these fantasy matchups how people point to a post-heavy, over 35 yr old jones to say why he would lose prime vs prime. i guess we should do that with all fighters. robinson would stand no chance with roy jones since he was dominated by tiger jones, fitzsimmons and charles would be stopped if they fought anyone with power because they were both stopped 7 times in their careers. sam langford is terrible because he lost over 30 times....

patterson was great but he had one of the weakest title runs in heavy history. can you imagine if wlad klitschko fought the olympic heavy champ making his pro debut?

In effect Patterson was the same size, he was also much better than anyone Jones faced at 175lbs, actually he's arguably the best LHW of all time so that could be said for any LHW bar Moore who faced him and got dominated

Jones would be the faster of the 2 men, but Patterson has the speed to land and the better jab and the peeka boo bobbing and weaving style could be effective against Jones. Still I think Jones could counter Patterson effectively

I'm Jones biggest fan on here but I'm sad to say I'd lean towards a Patterson KO, I think Patterson would get knocked down himself if he lunges in with his left hook, which was much more telegraphed than Jones. Jones actually has a chance of knocking Patterson him out himself, he's probably the most underrated puncher on this forum. He also has a chance of

I disagree PP, I was looking at the tale of the tape for these two last night, and Patterson is the bigger man. I was looking at a tape for an older Patterson, but then I was using Ruiz-Jones. He's just bigger, denser, basically all his measurements were denser.

I was only comparing height/reach in the ring weights really. I still think size wise this is practically an over the weight LHW fight, with Patterson a MW force feeding himself to 185lbs and Roy probably weighing that in the ring. That is assuming Roy is actually 5'11 and put on weight after the weigh in, 2 things I'm unsure of

I'm not even sure if the speed edge to Jones is even really definitive, I was watching that Patterson-Cooper fight and he looked just as quick to me
