We weighed in 2 pounds over the 170 limit......Hopefully it doesn't affect his title fight with Diaz.

hope not, but i dont think it will matter. its a fight that lots of people want to see and strikeforce must see that its a cash fight for them.

Even though Diaz will most likely opt to take the fight to the ground, if he tries to stand and bang with Semtex, its goodnight.

This is the third time (that I know of) that he has missed weight. Unacceptable.

How could it be a title fight if he missed weight???

    He's missed weight...........again??!!?!?!?!

Diaz will tough it out with him, especially because takedowns aren't his strong point. Potential FOTY and a potential chin checker for Diaz, who is tough as nails but would be in for a rude awakening standing and banging with Daley.

I favour Diaz to eventually get Daley down and sub him :deal

Let's hope Daley wins tonight. I assume the 'DEEP' welterweight title will no longer be on the line? Or was it in the first place.

Obviously it's now a non-title fight, so yeah, it's effected the fight.

    He said '....with Diaz'.

That fight isn't tonight. Providing Daley wins and makes weight next time, the fight with Nick will be for the SF 170lb title.

    Ah, then my mistake.

But, really, he shouldn't be getting a title fight if he wins after failing to make weight...again.

Non-title fights get a 1lb leeway; if the 'DEEP' title doesn't matter to Daley he's only 1lb over:D

All fights get a 1 lb give or take, it has nothing to do with if it's a title fight or not. It's simply there to give a sort of caveat about the scale and if it's truly accurate so they throw in that one pound O/U.

The big problem here is Daley's failure to make weight (156-171) more then once...that is an enormous problem and he shouldn't be rewarded with a title fight for a potential win, that's disgraceful in every possible sense.

I agree, but SF really don't have much of a choice. Daley-Diaz is the spectacle at 170 for them, they have to chance it really.

Daley, Alves and Johnson need to get themselves to MW.
