I would have to say that Paul Williams would beat him in a split...I wouldn't have said that in the beginning of the year after he lost to Carlos Quintana but
Cotto is mortal and lost his edge...He was considered a monster and now just another contender...

I'd say Cotto close UD, not by landing more, but by landing the harder punches. It would really be a competitive fight though.
You should add the traditional poll btw, makes it more interesting;)

Yeah i have to agree that maybe Cotto is a broken man after that crushing defeat to Margarito...
He would still be the favorite but not by much...i would love to see that fight and Williams vs Margarito...and if Cotto has the guts a re-match with Margarito...but we all know he does not want to go down that road again...

Williams via stoppage. I doubt this fight will ever happen.

I don't see Cotto lasting the distance. Paul has more KO power than I thought and Cotto is there to be hit.

I would go with Cotto as a fan... If PW had difficulties with Quintana, Cotto definately has more tools in his box. It will all depend on how Cotto works against PW's height. However, I believe that Margo has a better chin than PW.

While that was a great looking win, let keep in perspective just who he beat. He beat a guy who lost to Andre Ward already. After 8-9 fights.

It was a very good win, but I don;t think any one would go this overboard if taylor or Pavlik beat Kolle.

That said, if Williams can keep fighting the way he has the last few fights, sittting more on his punches and really hurting guys, he'll be hard to beat for anyone from 147 - 154. Margarito, Cotto, and Forrest all included.

As of now, I'll wait to see how Cotto rebounds from his loss. But Williams is a serious threat to anyone.

Good post Lance. We normally don't agree on much. I'm basing my prediction more on the Quintanna KO than Kolle though. I think Cotto is definitely a better fighter than Quintanna but is his chin any better than Quintanna's?
