I seen a thread calling him overated. I couldnt believe people would say that after haveing 3 impressive fights in 1 year. But if you look at him as a boxer i see him alot like Tommy Hearns. Minus one of the best jabs in boxing. Kelly has alot of the same qualitys both has 2 strong hands right and left both abnormallly large for thier weight division. Both fight there fights pushing people backwards and keeping them at a safe distance. And i think Kelly has a better chin dont get me wrong its not the greatest. But against miranda and taylor the kid can take a punch and he sure as hell can deliver a punch. I think this kid has got great potential he is an all around boxer not even close to one dimentinal and we will be talking about this kid for many years to come.

I think he will take Taylor down again he will be KO maybe around the 6th. Kelly isnt a big 1 punch fighter. He gets you on a accumlation of hard hard punches. Taylor will be watching that right hand all night. PUMP THAT JAB KELLY THATS UR FIGHT!!

he is neither underrated or overrated - most knowledgeable fans recognise him as the best middleweight in boxing and a top 10 p4p

Please tell me you did not compare Kelly Pavlik to the great Thomas Hearns.

The minute Pavlik gets in the ring with a real boxer, it'll be all over for him. That's why he's ducking Winky at 160 and Miranda at 168.

RZA, Pavlik will wear most people down.

I think Calzaghe, Hopkins or Chad Dawson are the only guys out there that can beat him.

And they'd all be closely contested fights.

Oh, and how in the world is Pavlik ducking Miranda at 168? They just fought within the year and Pavlik blew Miranda away.
It wasn't even close. Wright isn't in the picture at the moment, but with his stand-in-front-of-you style, Pavlik will beat on that man.

How the hell is he ducking Miranda - he beat the **** outta him last year and is now middleweight champ.Miranda has nothing to offer Pavlik. If Miranda wins a belt and Pavlik moves up to SM i'm sure he will be happy to beat him again:patsch

I'd add Kessler to that list and remove Hopkins

theres a good case hes underrated, hes a complete wrecking ball and just destroys anyone they put in front of him, who would of thought Miranda,Zertuche and Taylor would all be TKO'd by him when neither of all 3 have been TKO'd their entire careers.

If you dont think TH and Pavlik dont have anything in common with how they fight u are nuts. I am not comparing careers.. But how exciting they are, size in the division, Power in both hands, good jabs! I am not comparing careers just how they fight. And winky Wright!!! Come on what would beating winky do for his rep.... Absolutly nothing.

Let's see how he does in the rematch - but I think he's far from overrated.

I'm wit Iceman - Pavlik's in my top 10 P4P list. If you factor in his age, his undefeated record, KO percentage, and the 2007 that he had, you have a top ten P4P fighter - hands down....

If you can compare Pavlik to Hearns then what about comparing Abraham to Hagler (minus the workrate)?

Some of Pav's more ardent fans, guys like myself , jetski, and a few others, probably over rate him a bit. The drool bib crowd on this forum trash talk him alot, but they only listen to each other, so they are pretty much irrelevant. some others who aren't completely sold on Kelly YET probably under rate him a bit. All and all i think people treat him fairly.
