Doubt Lockett gives a **** to be honest. His lack of ambition is frightening for someone who got to his position.

Not singling you out, by no means, but folks who continually pop into threads such as this, just to down play possitive posts and point out that you believe the fighter being praised WILL lose to your guy, sets up for one NASTY Road Kill serving of Crow.:deal

The problem is the unknown, we dont know if Kelly has plan B's and C's, he gonna need them against Joe coz nobody can adapt in the ring like Joe....

I dont think he should fight Joe otherwise its another young up and coming Champ gettin schooled by Joe's ring intelligence.....Kessler de ja vu

My friend, IMO, Lockett's ambition was fine...up until he tasted that first clean 1-2. A few 1-2's later, and yeah I suspect he wished to be back home.

But I have to say that guy showed some serious, SERIOUS steel balls. Even at the end, he came back to his feet in warrior fashion as if to say "all right you big mother ****er, you're gonna have to kill me!", but Enzo did the right thing and threw the towel. Lockett himself was gonna go out on his shield.:yep

I hope the fight comes off for Joe's sake.

Even today, after becoming Light Heavyweight champion, and undisputed SMW champ, he still doesn't get the credit he deserves. If he schooled Pavlik, which I think is highly probable, then nobody could deny him.

They'd most likely call Pavlik a hype job, but the real fans would know the truth.

Yeah, that comment was not good on his part, but he made up for it by saying that Pavlik is THE GODZILLA at Middlewt. right now. And bringing out the fact that a fight with Joe C would be a MEGA-fight, really helped set the hype in motion for the casual boxing fan.

It wouldnt be easy work for Calzaghe neither. joe is really a volume puncher himself and only looks good when he lets his hands go. If he is slipping punches and on the defensive/counterpunching, his win by decision (if he wins) would not be that eye catching

Giving both mens style, (Volume punching), I would have to go with Pavlik by virtue of power punching. I dont think Joe would be able to starch Pavlik if they were both trading punches. Joes last real KO was 2005 against Veit (Manfredo was a premature stoppage)

But you are right about joes intelligence/movement and this might give pavlik some trouble cause joe doesnt walk in straight lines

You're right there my man, and I believe my excitement over the way the whole Joe part of the conversation went, that on first viewing I sort of missed all the disrespect to Lockett. I loved how the crowd acknowledged that JC is the fight to see, live on HBO.:yep

I'm going to have to disagree with most of your analysis. If you noticed in Pavlik's last fight, and in past fights, he waits for his shots. Lockett was ducking and weaving and Kelly was in full draw waiting for the opening then took it. He is very good at hitting moving targets, as you say Joe would be. He even changes direction of his punches in mid swing. I think Joe would get caught several times.

Stop overreacting, everyone with a brain knows Calzaghe is the real deal. If he catchins flack it is because he doesn't punch with power very often, and that criticism is warented. If he beats Pavlik that would be big win on his resume, because Pavlik is going to be very good for alot of years after Joe is gone.

The second Joe C. gets squared up against Pavlik and tastes the right hand, I think the whole thing changes. Needless to say it would be a fascinating matchup.

Calzaghe will get caught eventually. He's lost too much speed and agility to avoid Pavlik for twelve rounds. He's 36. Five years ago: different story. But today Pavlik will walk through his punches, Calzaghe will be squared in front of him windmilling punches and Pavlik will counter overhand rights that will put Calzaghe down and out.

    I disagree.

Kelly Pavlik isn't going to be the man at middleweight for years and years. He can be outboxed.

    Hasn't happened yet my friend.

How the hell can people say stuff like this? Do they have a crystal ball or know of a new SRR on the horizon that we don't know about?

    Freakin' amazing.
