Pavlik is getting heavily overrrated here because of his win against an easy opponent, if macklin can stay in there until the late rounds then he has every chance.....

I do like Pavlik but I still feel he has a lot to prove after the hopkins defeat.

I think he would probably beat Williams (even though I do rate PW).
I just wish they would hurry up and get that fight out of the way!

Macklin has a chance against anyone because of how hard he punches.

Macklin, should the fight ever happen, would definitly be a step above anything Pavlik has been up against in what is turning out to be one of the worse linier reigns in recent history.

That said, Pavlik is a good couple of levels above anything Matthew has been in against. Can he overcome this? I don't think he can but, unlike Gary Lockett's disgraceful performance, at least he will give it a go and may just ask a few questions of Pavlik. I'd like to see him against Strum who I believe is on the decline.

    I agree with that.

Macklin would be Pavlik's best win since Taylor I...... even though Macklin himself has questions to answer over his ability at world level, that said, a first round stoppage win over Asikainen isn't bad going.

This next fight will probably determine where he goes from here.

lol The fact that nobody on here besides you even raised the question of Pirog made me laugh.

Beating Pirog is no easy task

I think fans in general are a bit too down on Pavlik due to the Hopkins loss.

I still think he's up there with the best boxers around at the moment and will prove as such in the near future.

I wasn't sure but my minds made up. I think that Pavlik beats Williams!

I would love Macklin to prove he is good enough to fight in this class by beating more top contenders and maybe winning a world title.

He is a long way off being there yet though.

Pavlik by massacre. If you ever watched Macklin on the backfoot against Ajetovic you know this is a foregone conclusion.

I met Macklin. Nice kid. I think he is just too small for Kelly.

I think Pavlik would take this by TKO. That said he would have to look better than he did on Saturday, although ring rust etc no doubt played a part in that performance.
